What to Store
We recommend keeping digital copies of:
- Leases: Current and past lease agreements.
- Insurance Policies: Property insurance, liability coverage.
- Inspection Reports: Move-in, move-out, and periodic inspections.
- Warranties: Appliance and system warranties.
- Permits: Building permits, rental licenses.
- Mortgage Documents: Loan agreements, payment schedules.
- Tax Records: Property tax bills, assessment notices.
- Receipts: Major purchases, repairs, improvements.
Uploading Documents
You can upload documents in several places:
- Property Level: Go to a property and click "Documents" to upload property-wide documents like insurance or permits.
- Tenant Level: On a tenant's profile, upload documents specific to them—signed leases, ID copies, etc.
- With Expenses: Attach receipts directly to expense entries.
- With Maintenance: Attach invoices or photos to maintenance requests.
Organizing Your Documents
Documents are automatically organized by property and type. You can also add tags for easier searching later.
Use the search bar to find documents by name, tag, or content. Looking for that plumber's invoice from last year? Just search "plumber" or the company name.
Sharing Documents
Need to share a document with your accountant or insurance agent? Click "Share" to generate a secure link. You can set the link to expire after a certain time for security.
Security
All documents are encrypted in transit and at rest. Only you and authorized team members can access them. We never share your documents with third parties.
