This onboarding walkthrough will guide you through setting up your organization, ownership entities, and your first propertyโeverything you need to start managing rentals.
Complete RentMouse onboarding walkthrough
Step 1: Configure Organization Settings
Click "Get Started" to begin, then select "Configure Organization Settings". This sets up your business details so tenants know who they're renting from.
Enter your organization's:
- Contact Email โ Where tenants can reach you.
- Phone Number โ Your business phone.
- Website URL โ Your company website (optional).
- Mailing Address โ Street, City, Country, Province/State, Postal Code.
Click "Save & Continue" to proceed.
Step 2: Setup Ownership Entities
Ownership entities are the legal names that appear on leases and tax documents. This ensures proper liability protection and tax compliance.
- Click "Setup Ownership Entities".
- Click "Add Entity".
- Select Entity Type (Individual, Corporation, LLC, etc.).
- Enter the entity details (First Name, Last Name for individuals, or business name).
- Select Country and Province/State.
- Click "Create Entity".
Click "Save & Continue" to proceed.
Step 3: Add Your First Property
Now let's add your first rental property:
- Enter the Property Name (e.g., "Sunset Apartments").
- Enter the Street Address.
- Enter City, Country, Province/State, and Postal Code.
- Add your first unit:
- Unit Number (e.g., "101", "Suite A").
- Monthly Rent amount.
- Click "Create & Continue".
Step 4: Optional Setup
You can complete these now or skip for later:
- Invite Team Members โ Add staff or co-managers (or click "Skip for now").
- Choose Subscription โ Select a plan (or click "Skip for now").
Step 5: Go to Dashboard
Click "Go to Dashboard" to access your main dashboard. You're all set up and ready to manage your properties!
