Security Deposit Rules
- Maximum Limit: 1 month rent.
- Payment Plan: Tenant can pay 50% upon move-in, remainder within 2 months.
- Return Deadline: 7 business days after tenancy ends (if no claim made).
- Claim: Must notify tenant and ORT of claim within 7 days.
Rent Increases
Saskatchewan requires very long notice periods for rent increases compared to other provinces.
- Standard Notice: 12 months written notice required.
- SKLA Members: 6 months notice if landlord is a member of Saskatchewan Landlord Association.
- Frequency: Increases allowed only once every 12 months.
