The RentMouse Pro Plan gives you access to powerful features designed for landlords who want to take their property management to the next level. Here's everything included in Pro and how to make the most of it.

Unit Assets Tracking

Track and manage physical assets like keys, parking stalls, storage units, and access fobs. Issue assets to tenants, collect security deposits, and keep a complete record of what's been assigned to whom.

Accessing Unit Assets

  1. Click on Properties in the sidebar.
  2. Select Unit Assets to view and manage all assets.

Adding a New Asset

  1. Click "+ Add Asset" to start.
  2. Select the Property from the dropdown.
  3. Choose the Unit (or select "No specific unit" for shared assets like parking).
  4. Select the Asset Type (Key, Parking Stall, Storage, Fob, etc.).
  5. Enter an Asset Identifier (e.g., "P-101", "Key #5").
  6. Add a Description for reference.
  7. Set the Security Deposit amount if applicable.
  8. Click "Add Asset" to save.

Asset Types You Can Track

  • Keys: Unit keys, mailbox keys, common area keys.
  • Parking Stalls: Assigned parking spaces with stall numbers.
  • Storage Units: Lockers or storage spaces.
  • Access Fobs: Building entry fobs or garage remotes.
  • Other: Any trackable item you issue to tenants.

Issuing Assets to Tenants

When a tenant moves in, you can issue assets to them:

  1. Find the asset in your Unit Assets list.
  2. Click the "Issue" button.
  3. Select the Tenant from the dropdown.
  4. Click "Issue Asset" to confirm.

The asset is now tracked as assigned to that tenant, along with any security deposit collected.

Why Track Assets?

  • Accountability: Know exactly which tenant has which keys or parking stalls.
  • Security Deposits: Track deposits collected for keys, fobs, and parking.
  • Move-Out Checklist: Ensure all assets are returned before releasing deposits.
  • Audit Trail: Complete history of asset assignments.
