Tenant records and contact details

Keep each tenant's contact details, mailing address and emergency contact in one record linked to their lease.

When someone rents from you, or when a tenant's details change.

Tenants → New tenant, or open a tenant to edit their record.

Create a tenant

Choose Tenants → New tenant and enter at least a name. Add the email and primary phone when you have them; the email is also what the tenant signs in with if you invite them to the portal.

What the record holds

  • Phone numbers, including an alternate phone.
  • A mailing address: where notices about the tenancy are sent, if different from the rental.
  • An emergency contact with their phone numbers.
  • Optional details such as employer and notes. Only collect what you need and are allowed to keep.

Finding a tenant

Search the tenant list by name, email, phone, property or unit. A tenant's page shows their active lease and unit, their lease history and their portal access.

Legal note

  • What personal information you may collect from a renter or tenant, and how long you may keep it.
