Each topic is one decision

For each topic you either set a rule or leave it out. Leaving it out means the document says nothing about it — it does not say the opposite.

Where you set a rule, RentMouse offers finished wording to choose from. The words on the card are the words that go into the lease, so you can read exactly what you are agreeing before you pick it.

Pets

Either no pets, or pets with your prior written approval, in which case you say which animals are approved and on what conditions. No pet fee, pet rent or pet deposit is added by RentMouse.

Service and assistance animals are not treated as pets anywhere in these templates.

Which questions you see

The house-rules questions only appear where the chosen template can actually express them. A month-to-month agreement, a room rental and a sublease are numbered differently, so they ask their own questions instead — you will not be asked something the document would then quietly drop.
