How the guided lease builder works

One plain-language question at a time, with the document building itself beside you.

Every time you create a lease document, from the Leases page.

What it does

The builder asks one question at a time in ordinary words and assembles the agreement as you answer. Nothing is generated from scratch: every sentence comes from a seeded template, from a clause you chose, or from words you typed.

You can see the document at any point. On a wide screen it sits beside the questions; on a narrow one, the Preview button opens it.

The order it asks in

Agreement type — asked first, because it decides the whole document.
Landlord details — taken from your account registration, confirmed once.
Renter details — the address, email and phone the lease prints for each renter.
Lease and rent — how rent is paid and how long before a late fee applies.
Deposit and utilities — who pays for what.
House rules — pets, smoking, parking, noise, insurance and more.
Anything the chosen template still needs, then Review and signing.

You can stop and come back

Answers are saved in your browser as you go, so closing the tab does not lose them. Landlord and renter details are saved to your account and to the tenant records, so the next lease starts further ahead.
